Kelly has a wide area of expertise in the healthcare field, boasting 20 years of experience in Home Care, Assisted Living/Memory Care, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Medical Model Adult Day Care, and Social Model Adult Day Care. Her passion for dementia care, along with her education and experience, has enabled her to train other healthcare professionals in essential tips, techniques, and basic Alzheimer's training related to caring for individuals with mild cognitive impairments to late-stage dementia. She also shares recreational ideas that promote cognitive stimulation, positive emotions, and a sense of purpose. In 2001, she earned the ESAAL All-Star Staff award from the Empire State Association of Assisted Living for her outstanding commitment to resident care, serving as a role model to co-workers, and dedication to the team. With a degree as a Recreation Therapist from St Joseph's College and certifications as a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Senior Advisor, and Certified Senior Home Safety Specialist, her extensive experience empowers her to assist families and other healthcare professionals in navigating the healthcare system, accessing needed community resources, and becoming understanding and confident caregivers.
